Project Details

The proposed project activity is devolved as multiple project activities in accordance with guidance given under Para 3.6.4 of VERRA Standard Version 4.4. The main aim of the project activity is to install anaerobic digester to achieve methane recovery and gainful use of recovered methane i.e., electricity generation. The multiple project activities are installed, operated, owned by Empower capital. Project activity 1; involves the implementation of animal waste management system in the dairy farm owned by Empower capital located at Nubaria, Egypt. The animal manure generated in the dairy farm would be treated in anaerobic digester & recovered methane shall be used to generate electricity for captive consumption. Project activity 2; involves implementation of wastewater sludge treatment plant at Engas NRE, located at Sakha, Egypt. The wastewater sludge will be treated in anaerobic digester & recovered methane shall be used to generate electricity. The generated electricity will deliver to grid for third party sale/ purchase under an agreement.
